Balanced and nutritional meals are the core of child well-being, physical activity, learning abilities and as a result happiness of the child and his parents.
There is a whole program of preparation of the menu in a kindergarten. As we call it PHILOSOPHY OF HEALTHY FOOD.
A proper, balanced diet, increases resistance to various viruses and diseases. For children, it is important not only to get information about healthy foods but to make this knowledge part of their life.

THE PHILOSOPHY OF A HEALTHY DIET
What goals do I have when telling children about proper nutrition?
- Expand children’s knowledge about nutrition.
- To form the skills of proper nutrition – as an important part of a healthy lifestyle.
- Generate ideas about good manners related to meals.
Children in our childcare eat healthy food, we conduct classes about what healthy food is. We conduct classes in valeology. Valeology is the science of health. And in these classes we talk about healthy and balanced nutrition.
As we talk, we discuss with children different situations that arise as a result of an unhealthy diet. Situational conversation (“Where can we get vitamins in winter?”, “How can you grow vitamins on the window by yourself?”)
Many families used to prepare not very useful and healthy foods: salty, fried, fatty, smoked, spicy, sweet. Because of this, children who are not accustomed to a variety of food, in the child care refuse to vegetable dishes, dairy products, fish, etc..
Signs of proper nutrition of the child are age-appropriate physical development, high immunity, the stability of the nervous system, a good mood. However, if you eat delicious meals, life always seems happier and brighter!
For many, the concept of “healthy eating” is associated with organic products, and not the way of life. However, if you’re not a millionaire, then it is unlikely you will be able to replace all the food in the refrigerator. Organic products cost almost twice the price of normal, and the choice is very limited.
Healthy or not?
The manufacturers claim they do not use banned pesticides, but at the same time, they forget to add about permitted pesticides. Of course, organic products are not subjected to gene modification, do not contain artificial additives and not crammed with hormones and antibiotics. Many studies have shown that the number of useful microelements in it is much higher.
But there is an alternative — products of local farmers which is gaining more popularity.
When planning the menu, I use, in addition to my experience, the recommendations of the Department of Health of the New York State Childhood Care Program.
So what is a ``healthy diet``?
Philosophy of our childcare: the term “healthy diet” refers to a complex of healthy products, physical, intellectual and emotional development of children.
